SPECS :

Bridge Humbucker

ALNICO V MAGNET

Measured DC – 14.49 K ohms

Having only previously tried one aftermarket pickup in a previous 7-String, being a Dimarzio Blaze, when time came for another round of wanting a dedicated guitar for the brootz, decided to check out this offering from the folks at Seymour Duncan.

Installed in the bridge position of an Ibanez RG7321, the Pegasus manages to retain string definition, remaining relatively tight and punchy, without sacrificing picking dynamics. Overall, a fairly balanced humbucker, which seems to be voiced to cater for a wide range of midrange eq adjustment between different amplifiers and various heavy metal tones.

Compared to the stock Axis AH-7 Humbucker, the Pegasus has the upper hand in note clarity, particular when down tuning further than standard B + winding up the gain.
