My first encounter with Entwistle Pickups was through some friends with GAS aquiring some Revelation Guitars.
When it came time for another partscaster build, a GFS tele body, which was subject to routing modification to accomodate a Deluxe style layout, i was straight onto the Entwistle website http://www.entwistlepickups.com/pickup.php
The specifications of the Nemesis AFG piqued my interest and a decision was made, but unfortunately, due to misjudgement (blaming the use of a smartphone with glaring sunlight) placed an order for the Non AFG NEMESIS model, which is now the subject of this review.
Measured DC – 12.55K ohm
4 Conductor wire
I wired this up so the 2 coils could be in series or parallel configuration. Wiring it up as a split (only one coil) was also quite nice, but in my opinion, the series/parallel option brings out the most of this mix pole design, providing some complex harmonics on clean settings, and some restraint + clarity on higher gain settings.
The Nemesis main strenght lies in the midrange voicing. Not overly hyped or in honky territory, but fat and punchy. Complimented by tight lows and a nice aggressive top end, the Nemesis is perfectly suited for styles of Harder Rock and Heavier Music.
<EDIT> Also installed in a Jackson DInky with similiar results.
Comparision with the Entwistle Darkstar ND (review to come)
